Google’s Certified Professional Learning Center is an online collection of articles intended to prep people for Google certification exams. The Learning Centers for each of the supposedly supported languages have always offered different materials for what are supposedly the same tests. For several months, Google’s own US English and UK English versions even disagreed on the existence of the Reporting & Analysis exam and certification. Now it seems there’s one home for all versions, which look like they’re *probably* all saying the same thing. Not being a speaker of that many languages, I’m not vouching for that but the navigation is certainly slicker than before:
What a welcome development! Now if only the actual tests did the same thing.
The exam prep materials may be available in 21 languages, but the exams are not.
Google says they are. But they are not. Try to purchase a non-English exam and you’ll learn that there are none (login required). You don’t have to know any Spanish to understand from this screenshot that your test is going to be in US English:
As of May, the ONLY exam sitting that could actually be purchased was for the already defunct Reporting and Analysis exam in the supposedly supported languages of Arabic, Czech, Dutch, German Hebrew, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish, Turkish, Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Ukrainian. Not even the required fundamentals exam was available in those languages, and now that Reporting and Analysis exams are gone, there are no exams of any kind offered in those languages. So why does the revamped Learning Center offer exam prep materials in them?
Is there any other possible next step than offering all exams in all languages?
